Coming at you this week with another base product review, and it’s another one I’m super late to the party on – the Too Faced Hangover Primer. I’d been wanting a new primer for ages as I was just sort of using moisturiser, and I ended up getting this for Christmas after high-key wanting to try it for a long time, and I’m really glad I did!
Firstly, as always with Too Faced, (especially with their Sweet Peach palette) the packaging is adorable and I love the pastel pink, white and gold aesthetic. I also think the whole ‘Hangover’ idea is super funny, and it really emphasises the idea of a revival of the skin.
In terms of the product itself, I’ve first gotta say that it smells so amazing. It has a coconut smell but it’s not too overwhelming. It has a lightweight, moisturiser-like feel to it and it doesn’t feel too thick at all, nor does it irritate my skin, which is a godsend nowadays tbh; it’s also silicone-free. It blends in really nicely and you don’t need a huge amount.
It makes my skin look dewy and healthy but it doesn’t make my skin look more oily than it already is or anything like that; it just provides a smooth base to apply my makeup on top of, and I feel like it minimises my pores and texture and all that good stuff. I’d been using the Fenty Beauty foundation until recently and I’d say that the finish is definitely more flawless using this, and everything just sits nicer on my skin with it to be honest. I also feel like it helps in terms of longwear for my foundation etc and it works so well alongside my Urban Decay Oil Control Setting Spray.
Overall, I really like this primer so far and I love how soft it makes my skin feel and how much more flawless it makes my makeup look in general. I would definitely recommend trying it if you haven’t already (you probably have haha) as it just makes my skin look so much more awake. Like I said in my Urban Decay Oil Control Setting Spray post, I’m coming to the conclusion that I wanna splurge on base products to make my makeup look better as a whole, and I’m really loving using these two products together!
