Maybelline’s ‘Baby’ range has a variety of skin and lip products that aim to protect and moisturise. I own three of the older products from their Baby Lips range but personally I wasn’t a fan because of how sticky and grainy they made my lips look. Most recently I picked up their Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, which is normally £7.99 but I decided to get it when Maybelline products were 2 for £10.(The other product I picked up was The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara). As far as the packaging, I think it’s super cute and it’s also the perfect size for just popping into your makeup bag. The text on the front calls it an “Instant Pore Eraser/Lightweight Primer” and boasts “Smooth, poreless looking skin”; I think that those claims are definitely achieved.
When I apply this to my face, I notice a drastic difference as my pores are practically invisible; there’s also an improvement in the texture of my skin. My face feels so smooth, literally like a baby’s skin, and it provides a really easily workable makeup base when you use it as a primer. It keeps your makeup in place for a long time so that it doesn’t move, as well as making sure that your face doesn’t get too dry from wearing it.
The product itself is clear and of a gel-like consistency and let me tell you, a little goes a long way! If you apply too much of it it can be quite oily/greasy, and I generally wouldn’t recommend it to those with oily skin, but with the right amount I honestly have no complaints. It goes on really easily and blends into my skin with no problems whatsoever. The condition of my skin is currently awful as it’s quite dry and blotchy so I find that this really gives it the boost and moisture it needs, and was definitely worth the impulse buy. I’m really impressed with the results that I’ve seen from using this product for just over a month, and I’m sure that it will continue to deliver as a primer and a way to minimise the appearance of my pores.
Overall, I’m in love with it!
